Named after the traditional Chinese unit of measurement that remains in popular use today, the 3Mu forms the residential component of the Butterfly District – a collection of existing industrial warehouses recently regenerated into a vibrant neighbourhood of studio offices above shops and restaurants at street level.

The desire for higher building density, and the desire for green space led to an elevated public park design, spanning over a podium of shops and restaurants. Raised above on tree like columns is a Tetris arrangement of residential apartments, fashioned into double height Sky Villas with cut out terrace gardens.
